At Fojanga Academy, we embrace the very meaning of the name of our school. 'Fojanga' is a word from one of the Local Languages in the Gambia Wollof. And the word Fojanga means Play-Learn. In other words, we recognise the importance of both having physical exercise, space for fun and freedom as they play and develop their mental, emotional and physical health and as they sit down in class to gather information directly from their books, their tools and their teachers. We also emphasize the importance of making learning a fun experience as the children discover how the world works around them. We encourage them to ask questions, do research and learn how to present their findings, to report and to be couargeous to speak up in any public arena with knowledge and respect for all.
